01 – Bible Laws for our Society
Our Western society has adopted The King James Bible as God’s handbook of guidance of “how should we then live”? Right up front in our true 1901 Constitution, we find these words – humbly relying on the blessing of Almighty God. These guidelines enable maximum freedom for any group of people to live together. Sadly – there will be those who may say – “we are not under the law” and actually believe they can do what they like. That may be true if you are the only one on the island. However, can you imagine a society with no basic road rules ? We agree in Australia to drive on the left side of the road (or the right in some countries) common sense must prevail. You can’t even begin a game of marbles without a set of agreed rules !
We also know in our hearts that murder, theft, fraud, rape etc is just wrong. Heb 10.16 … I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them …
The laws on animal sacrifice no longer apply since Yeshua 33AD. Here are some of God’s guidelines for people interaction. Know them, have the relevant ones in writing, especially when dealing with bureaucracy and judiciary.
LAWS OF THE BIBLE
A great scholar once said, “If a man-made law cannot be traced to a divine source, then not only should its effectiveness be questioned but, even more, its intent should be suspected.”
The divine laws, as revealed to Moses and taught by Christ, must be discerned spiritually and put into practice in our daily life. Wise decisions, based on obedience to the laws of the Bible so abundant in mercy and justice, bring about the constant harmony and peace, which can be ours.
